Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Online-QR ("the service") at online-qr.com. By creating an account, hitting our public API at /v1/make-qr, or scanning a QR linked to /r/<code>, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect compromise.

2. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to:

• Distribute malware, phishing pages, or pirated content.
• Harass, dox, or target individuals.
• Run unsolicited bulk distribution (spam).
• Promote child sexual abuse material, terrorism, or content that is illegal in your or our jurisdiction.
• Circumvent our rate limits, security controls, or tier feature gates (including running multiple free-tier accounts to evade per-account quotas).
• Scrape the platform, abuse the API, or otherwise impose disproportionate load.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice. Refunds for prepaid subscription time on a terminated account are at our discretion.

3. Dynamic redirect content

You're responsible for the destination URLs you set on dynamic QR codes. If a destination becomes a malware site, a violation of these Terms, or is reported to us by a credible third party, we may pause or disable the redirect.

4. The Reverse Trial & billing

• New accounts receive 14 days of full Pro access with no credit card required.
• On day 15, if you've added a payment method we charge the Pro monthly rate. If you haven't, your account downgrades to Free — your existing QR codes keep working but scans hit a branded interstitial page instead of redirecting directly.
• Paid plans renew on the calendar boundary you signed up for (monthly or yearly). Cancel anytime from the Billing tab; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. We don't pro-rate refunds.
• Payment failures trigger a 14-day grace period (Pro features stay active). At the end of the grace period the account downgrades to Free.
• All prices are listed in USD and exclude taxes. VAT / GST / sales tax is added at checkout where applicable.

5. Your content, our license

You retain ownership of everything you upload (icons, destinations, vCard data, etc.). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host and display that content solely to operate the service for you. We do not use your content to train any AI model.

6. Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove features. If a change materially reduces the value of a paid subscription we'll notify you in advance and offer a pro-rated refund for the remaining paid period. Free-tier feature changes don't trigger this notice.

7. Availability

We target 99.9% monthly uptime for the API and dashboard. Scheduled maintenance is announced at least 24 hours in advance via the in-app banner and email. We don't guarantee uptime on the free tier.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties — merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page; we remove your data per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate your account for breach of these Terms with notice where reasonable. Sections 5, 8, 9, and 12 survive termination.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change. Material changes are announced 30 days in advance via email and the in-app banner. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Online-QR is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
